This course is for non-DOE agency personnel who need to classify matter containing RD and FRD.  The course includes, but is not limited to: an introduction to the nuclear weapons-related categories classified information; the special characteristics of this information; the special authority necessary to classify matter containing RD and FRD, and the limitations of RD Derivative Classification authority. 

This completion of this course does not authorize a person to classify matter containing RD or FRD.  In addition to completing this or agency-specific training, unless a person is a military of Federal employee of DoD, they must  designated as an RD Derivative Classifier in accordance with agency procedures.  Unless you are specifically directed to this training by your agency, you should contact your supervisor, security office, or your RD Management Official to ensure you receive appropriate agency training or advised that this information is accepted to meet your agency’s requirements and to complete agency procedures to become an RD Derivative Classifier. 

This course is not suitable for persons within DOE and does not meet DOE requirements for Derivative Classifier training.  For DOE classification training, contact your Classification Officer or Headquarters Classification Representative.
