May 17, 2024Recently, Energy Secretary Granholm was on The View to show Americans how much they could save on fuel by making the switch to an EV. The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Driving Electric: Local Fuel Savings Calculator allows driver to estimate, at the ZIP code level, how much they save on fuel costs by driving an EV (either a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle or a battery electric vehicle).

For qualifying EVs, consumers can immediately receive federal tax credits to reduce the price of a new EV by up to $7,500, and by up to $4,000 for a used EV. DOE has resources available to assist you if you’re ready to buy your first EV or to help buy your next EV.
