The U.S. Department of Energy Solar Energy Technologies Office (SETO) has issued a request for information (RFI) to gather input on efficiency, stability and replicability performance targets for perovskite photovoltaic (PV) devices that could be utilized to demonstrate technical and commercial readiness for future funding programs.

As perovskite technologies mature and industry develops, establishing common, objective targets will assist in aligning community efforts, ensuring relevance of potential future funding programs, and accelerating technical and commercial development and de-risking of perovskite technologies.

SETO requests feedback from industry, academia, research laboratories, government agencies, and other stakeholders on the proposed targets for single junction, perovskite-only tandem, and hybrid tandem technologies.

A total of 11 RFI responses were received and reviewed, including 6 from the perovskite and solar industry, 3 from national laboratory organizations, and 2 from academic institutions. This Performance Targets for Perovskite Photovoltaic RD&D Programs: RFI Summary and Updated Metrics document presents aggregated information from all RFI responses, a revised performance target matrix, and clarification on potential utilization by SETO.
