Educators plan, develop, and implement activities for bioenergy educational programs, including lesson plans, curriculum development, and outreach. They serve as subject matter experts for educational practices, focusing on emerging education research, effectiveness of particular teaching approaches, and evidence-based practice. Educators collaborate with bioenergy subject matter experts to ensure that content taught is accurate and up-to-date.
 
At the senior or supervisory level, the education program manager is responsible for maintaining a healthy balance of support for all the needs of research and education in the bioenergy sector. The individual is responsible for developing policies and plans for strengthening support of research and education programs, and advises and assists in the development of short-and-long range plans and goals. Program managers serve as a bridge between scientific expertise and the rest of the programming team members. A master’s degree or doctorate in Education is preferred.
