The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Bioenergy Technologies Office (BETO) released its 2023 Project Peer Review Report, a comprehensive summary of stakeholder and subject-matter expert feedback on BETO’s latest research, development, and demonstration (RD&D) portfolio.
This report includes a summary of findings from the 2023 Project Peer Review, a biannual event held in Denver, Colorado, which brings together more than 50 external subject-matter experts from industry, academia, and federal agencies to participate on review panels.
Reviewers provided recommendations on technology RD&D strategies for 11 primary technology areas within BETO’s portfolio, including:
- Advanced Algal Systems Program
- Biochemical Conversion and Lignin Utilization
- Agile BioFoundry Consortium
- Catalytic Upgrading
- Carbon Dioxide Utilization
- Data, Modeling, and Analysis Program
- Performance-Advantaged Bioproducts, Bioprocessing Separations, and Plastics
- Organic Waste Conversion
- Feedstock Technologies Program
- Feedstock-Conversion Interface Consortium
- Systems Development & Integration Program
