Chief Financial Officer

Bruce Martin was appointed in December 2014 as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for the U. S. Department of Energy at the Savannah River Site in Aiken, South Carolina. He is responsible for all aspects of financial management, including the execution of procedures, policies, and programs related to budgeting, accounting, financial review and analysis, and internal controls. In addition, Mr. Martin has administrative responsibility for monitoring and assessing contractor financial performance.

Prior to his current position, Mr. Martin was the Deputy Division Chief in Resource Management for the International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Bureau of the U. S. Department of State. There he directed postaward contract administration, property management, financial analysis and budgeting for complex international programs in excess of $2 billion.

Mr. Martin has more than 25 years of experience in accounting, budgeting and financial management. The majority of his career has been with the U. S. Department of Defense, but he has also had positions within the private sector. Past positions include CFO, Budget Officer, and Chief, Accounting & Inventory Control. Some notable assignments include leadership positions in the austere environments of Iraq and Afghanistan.

Mr. Martin has four University Degrees culminating with an MBA (specializing in Finance) from the University of Baltimore. He also has several professional certifications in finance and contracting. Mr. Martin and his wife have four children and reside in Aiken, South Carolina.
