
Florence Tindle serves as the Manager of NNSA’s Livermore Field Office (LFO), a position she has held since December 2024. In this capacity, she leads a team of about 90 Federal and contractor staff responsible for administrating and overseeing a management and operating contract with an annual budget of approximately $3 billion, a workforce of more than 8,000 people, and several billion dollars in government-owned facilities and assets. Ms. Tindle is responsible for implementing national security and nonproliferation missions by providing oversight of program management, nuclear operations, security, quality assurance, environment, safety, and health, and the execution of key mission deliverables at NNSA’s Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. She is a member of the Senior Executive Service.
Before joining NNSA, Ms. Tindle was Vice President of Engineering Excellence at Lockheed Martin. She led an organization of more than 5,800 employees responsible for the overall strategic direction and operational leadership across the company’s Missiles & Fire Control enterprise. In that role, she led the transformational redesign of complex, multi-disciplinary engineering, technology, system safety, logistics & sustainment, and cross-functional teams.
Ms. Tindle has previously served as Chief Information Officer for the F-35 Lightning II joint strike fighter aircraft program, where she was responsible for establishing the overall strategic direction and execution for the delivery of specific requirements for the Air Force and Marine Corps.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Hawaii Pacific University and an MBA from Charinade University of Honolulu. She holds numerous community engagement positions focused on STEM and is a retired member of the United States Air Force.
