Bruce Diamond, NNSA General Counsel

Bruce Diamond became the General Counsel for NNSA in 2011.

Before that, he was the Department of Energy's (DOE) Assistant General Counsel for Environment, the senior career environmental attorney for the department dealing principally with complex issues regarding the clean-up of the nuclear complex and implementation of National Environmental Policy Act obligations. In addition, he was responsible for addressing health and safety issues.

Previously, he was a senior corporate official responsible for environmental and occupational health and safety matters for a major energy company.

At the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Mr. Diamond served as the Manager of the National Superfund Enforcement Program. Mr. Diamond also served as Regional Counsel for the Middle Atlantic Region of the EPA. Prior to that, he was a Staff Attorney in the Office of General Counsel at the EPA. Mr. Diamond was a Clerk to the Honorable Frank M. Coffin of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.

He is a graduate of the University of Michigan Law School and the University of Pennsylvania.
