Learn more about the Department of Energy Office of Legacy Management’s Rocky Flats Site located in Colorado. The three-part video series documents the process of transforming Rocky Flats from a nuclear production facility into an environmental asset surrounded by a national wildlife refuge in one of the most successful radioactive and hazardous waste cleanups ever completed.

The first video provides an overview of the site's history, with an emphasis on how global events during the Cold War shaped the site's mission and evolution. The second video discusses plutonium pits and how they are manufactured, as well as the collaborative cleanup process after production ended. The final video documents the air-monitoring program that began at the site in the early 1950s.
