The Office of Economic Impact and Diversity invites you to join us as we celebrate Native American Heritage Month on Thursday, November 29, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. in the Forrestal Main Auditorium.
During Native American Heritage Month, we celebrate the contributions, achievements, sacrifices, and the cultural and historical legacy of the original inhabitants of what is now the United States and their descendants. This year's national theme, "Sovereignty, Trust, Resilience," speaks to the contributions of Native Americans to the prosperity and strength of our Nation.
Carrie Billy, JD, member of the Navajo Nation, will serve as the Keynote Speaker for the Program. Ms. Billy is the President and CEO of the American Indian Higher Education Consortium (AIHEC). Through AIHEC, the Nation’s 37 tribal colleges nurture a common vision: Strong Sovereign Nations through Excellence in TRIBAL Higher Education.
Please join us in learning about the role that Tribal Colleges play in tribal nation-building, as well as the activities carried out by the Department of Energy to strengthen the state of STEM in Indian Country.
