National Disability Employment Awareness Month -- America’s Workforce: Empowering All
Tuesday, October 23 | 11 a.m. ET

The Office of Economic Impact and Diversity invites you to join us as we celebrate Disability Employment Awareness Month on Tuesday, October 23, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. in the Forrestal Main Auditorium.

The Keynote Speaker for our Disability Awareness Month Program will be Ms. Jennifer Sheehy, Deputy Assistant Secretary, Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP), U.S. Department of Labor.  In her role as Deputy Assistant Secretary for ODEP, Ms. Sheehy works to promote policies and to coordinate with employers, including all levels of government, to increase workplace success for people with disabilities.

In recognition of Disability Employment Awareness Month, Secretary Perry recorded a video, which can be found at the following link:

In 1988, the United States Congress designated the month of October as National Disability Employment Awareness Month to raise awareness of the employment needs and contributions of individuals with all types of disabilities.  Disability Employment Awareness Month is a time to educate all DOE employees about disability employment issues and to celebrate the contributions that DOE employees with disabilities make on a daily basis in support of the DOE mission.
