The U.S. Department of Energy, appreciates the diversity of our workforce and unique perspectives of persons with disabilities. We recognize that differing perspectives contribute to effective delivery of services and important mission responsibilities for the public.

Persons with disabilities often bring qualities that strengthen and enhance the workforce capabilities through:

  • A unique set of experiences and skills;
  • Equal or higher job performance than employees without disabilities;
  • Teamwork, collaboration and partnership; and
  • A tendency to be retained in the job longer.

DOE Application process

DOE posts job announcements online, including those open for Schedule A applicants. Applications are submitted through the job announcement and must include supporting documentation. Referrals of qualified applicants eligible for Schedule A will be forwarded to the hiring manager when the position is open for Schedule A applicants to apply.

The resume should be tailored to the position you are applying for. This is done by reviewing the job responsibilities and qualification requirements, and note any specialized experience necessary for the position. The resume should reflect your experience in each of these areas and support answers to the online experience questions that are part of the application.
