
Amy Lukens joined the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Indian Energy as a technical project officer in Sept. 2024. She administers financial assistance awards and provides technical assistance to award recipients.
Prior to joining the Office of Indian Energy team, Amy served 3 years with DOE’s National Environmental Policy Act division. Preceding her time at DOE, her career focused on technical assistance and environmental regulatory compliance. Most notably, she spent several years ensuring resource protection and regulatory compliance for the National Science Foundation’s National Ecological Observatory Network and the U.S. Space Force’s Kaena Point Satellite Tracking Station.
Originally from Ohio, Amy is duty-stationed in Denver, Colorado. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in geography from Ohio University and a Master of Environmental Science degree from Miami University. She is honored to be a part of a team striving to facilitate the clean energy goals of American Indian Nations, Alaska Native Villages, and Tribal and intertribal organizations.
