The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development is hosting a federal funding fair on July 11, 2024, through two webinar sessions.
Presenters will come from the U.S. Department of Energy's Office of State and Community Energy Programs, Office of Manufacturing and Energy Supply Chain, Solar Energy Technology Office, and Loan Programs Office.
Representatives from USDA will also talk more about USDA Rural Development's Rural Energy for America (REAP) program and Rural Utilities Service (RUS) Electric Programs.
Session 1:
Thursday, July 11, 2024, 2-3 p.m. ET
- DOE's Office of State and Community Energy Programs (SCEP) works with state and local organizations to significantly accelerate the deployment of clean energy technologies, catalyze local economic development and create jobs, reduce energy costs, and avoid pollution through place-based strategies involving a wide range of government, community, business, and other stakeholders. SCEP manages programs such as the State Energy Program, Weatherization Assistance Program, Energy Efficiency & Conservation Block Grant Program, and the Home Energy Rebates Program.
- DOE's Office of Manufacturing and Energy Supply Chains (MESC) strengthens and scales America's clean energy supply chains through transformative manufacturing capacity investments, targeted workforce investments to build up the energy workforce of the future, and cutting-edge energy supply chain vulnerability and innovation analysis. MESC manages programs such as the Battery Materials Processing Program, Battery Manufacturing and Recycling Program, Advanced Energy Manufacturing and Recycling Program, and the 48C Advanced Energy Project Credit Program (in support of UST/IRS).
- DOE's Solar Energy Technology Office (SETO) accelerates the advancement and deployment of solar technology in support of an equitable transition to a decarbonized economy, and manages programs related to Photovoltaics, Concentrating Solar-Thermal Power, Manufacturing and Competitiveness, and Solar Workforce Development.
- The DOE Loan Programs Office (LPO) provides attractive debt financing for high-impact large-scale energy infrastructure projects in the U.S. and manages programs such as the Title 17 Clean Financing Program, the Advanced Technology Vehicles Manufacturing Loan Program, and the Tribal Energy Financing Program.
Session 2:
Thursday, July 11, 2024, 4-5 p.m. ET
- USDA will present on Rural Utilities Service (RUS) Electric programs for medium and large utility-scale clean energy projects that serve rural communities and Rural Business-Cooperative Service (RBCS) Rural Energy for America Program (REAP) program for small-scale clean energy projects for rural small businesses and agricultural producers.
USDA has also developed Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) pocket guides to help applicants navigate the suite of programs that were recently developed for clean energy projects in rural America across several agencies. You will notice that the funding fairs will discuss some of the programs featured in our IRA guides. One of the guides sorts programs by common eligible uses and the other organizes programs by common eligible applicant groups: IRA Pocket Guides | Rural Development (usda.gov).
