Presentation at the Green Schools IAQ Workshop in 2023 describes FEMP and PNNL's work over the last five years to conduct assessments at federal offices, schools, and hospitals to improve indoor environmental quality (IEQ) and energy efficiency. An energy and IEQ assessment determines how a building's energy systems and indoor environmental conditions are performing and identifies opportunities for improvement. FEMP and PNNL have supported eight schools across the country with remote audits and customized recommendations to improve energy efficiency and occupant health and comfort.
