Tracye McDaniel EMAB Board Member

Tracye McDaniel is President of TIP Strategies, Inc., an Austin-based firm providing consulting and advisory services to public and private sector clients. McDaniel is a recognized trailblazer in the economic development and travel marketing industry. She has been a trusted advisor to CEOs, nonprofits, public organizations, and private enterprises for more than three decades. As a widely recognized strategist with C-Suite level experience in all facets of the industry, McDaniel has earned a reputation for creating mutually beneficial strategic partnerships across a broad spectrum of industries. McDaniel served as Chair of the International Economic Development Council.

Prior to joining TIP, McDaniel founded McDaniel Strategy Ecosystems and served as president and CEO for two separate state-level marketing and lead-generating organizations: first in New Jersey (where she was appointed by the newly elected New Jersey Governor Chris Christie and business leaders to serve as the founding CEO of Choose New Jersey) and later in Texas (where she headed up the Texas Economic Development Corporation). Her expertise in international business development and marketing spans more than 50 countries. McDaniel also served as executive vice president and Chief Operating Officer of the Greater Houston Partnership where she teamed up with business leaders to raise more than $32 million and to devise and execute Opportunity Houston, the organization’s successful economic development global marketing and lead generation initiative. 

In recognition of her accomplishments in business and community, the New Jersey Business Journal named McDaniel among New Jersey’s 2014 Best 50 Women in Business, as well as listed on the 100 Most Powerful People in New Jersey Business. Consultant Connect recognized her with North America’s Top 50 Economic Developers Award 2016 and the Excellence in Economic Development Award by the Site Selectors Guild.

McDaniel holds a Bachelor of Science in Communications from the University of Texas at Austin. 

McDaniel serves on EMAB as a special government employee. She provides expert advice on large project planning, and risk assessment.
