For the first time since hybrid vehicles entered the market, the share of hybrid registrations declined in 2010 โ€“ from 2.9% in 2009 to 2.6% in 2010. Reasons for this include the relatively lower price of gasoline and the availability of several non-hybrid vehicles that get 40 miles per gallon or more.
