From 2017 to 2019, the amount of vehicle miles traveled (VMT) on a monthly basis was consistent, but in 2020 VMT declined due to the pandemic. April 2020 marked the lowest point, which was 40% lower than April 2019. VMT for January and February of 2020 started out slightly above the previous three years, but fell significantly in March and April, and then rebounded for May and June. After July 2020, the VMT trend of the previous years is evident, but the VMT continued to be about 10% lower.
