A new program sponsored by the Energy Department's SunShot Initiative supports seven research teams across the United States that are designing and testing novel strategies to transform the ways solar technologies are developed and introduced to energy markets.
Four "diffusion" project teams are combining big datasets, computational tools, and pilot experiments to revolutionize the interface between solar technologies and energy consumers.
The project teams met during the Big Data Projects on Solar Technology Evolution and Diffusion: Kickoff Meeting on July 15, 2013. This one-day meeting included presentations from each of the SEEDS teams on the motivation, background, objectives, and potential outcomes for each project.
