Keishaa Austin

Keishaa Austin is the Associate Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE)’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy. Previously, she has served in other roles at DOE including as the Principal Deputy Director of the Office of State and Community Energy Programs (SCEP). 

Austin brings to DOE an extensive background in energy and communications. She served as a senior public utilities regulatory analyst in grid planning and reliability at the California Public Utilities Commission, and a program analyst at the Office of the People’s Counsel for the District of Columbia. She has also held roles with media and entertainment companies including Urban One, BET Networks and Capitol Music Group. Austin earned her law degree at Texas Southern University and her bachelor’s degree from Howard University.
