The U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE’s) Build4Scale training teaches manufacturing fundamentals to energy hardware innovators. The training provides scientists and engineers with the knowledge they need to assess manufacturing readiness, make and evaluate smart product design decisions, and engage with manufacturing partners.

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL), in collaboration with multiple organizations, led the development of DOE’s Build4Scale training content. Major contributors to DOE’s Build4Scale training content development include:

  • EWI (formerly Edison Welding Institute)
  • Greentown Labs
  • i-GATE
  • Los Angeles Cleantech Incubator (LACI)
  • MANEX Consulting (Affiliated with the California National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Manufacturing Extension Partnership)
  • MassMEP (Affiliated with the Massachusetts NIST-MEP)
  • Optimal Inc.
  • Texas A&M University
