Bioenergy BRIDGE to Career Program Virtual Workshop

The U.S. Department of Energy Bioenergy Technologies Office's Bioprocessing Separations Consortium is hosting a four-day virtual event for undergraduate students interested in learning about the bioenergy field. This workshop will occur for four consecutive Fridays, starting on Friday, July 14, and ending on Friday, August 4.

The objectives of the workshop are:

  • To introduce the topic of bioenergy and expose students to leading-edge research on topics such as the benefits of bioenergy, types of biomass feedstock, how bioenergy is produced, and biomass conversion technologies.
  • To meet and network with scientists and researchers in the field of bioenergy.
  • To help STEM-interested students explore a potential career in bioenergy by addressing the academic and professional development skills needed to help them transition to a 4-year institution and beyond.
  • To inform students about future educational and research opportunities available to them.
  • To broaden the participation of underrepresented minorities in STEM within the bioenergy community.
