Todd Angel

Director, Office of Security Assessments

Mr. Todd Angel serves as the Director of the Office of Security Assessments within the Office of Safeguards and Security Assessments (EA-20).  Todd joined EA-20 in 2020 serving as a principal expert for the Program Planning and Management topic area and led teams in conducting appraisals, reviews, and special studies across the Department of Energy complex. 

Prior to joining EA-20, Mr. Angel worked as a program manager with Leidos Inc.  In this role, Todd led teams in completing the design and build of security projects to support domestic electric generation and transmission utilities in meeting Federal Energy Regulatory Commission Critical Infrastructure Protection requirements.

Todd also worked with the security organization for the United Arab Emirates Barakah Nuclear Power Plant and supported several aspects of the program including assisting in the development of policy as well as leading the vulnerability assessment and aspects of the security system design for the plant.  He also served in positions with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and the U.S. Coast Guard which included a deployment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.  

Mr. Angel holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy and a Master of Business Administration from Averett University.  He is also a registered Professional Engineer and holds a Project Management Professional certification from the Project Management Institute.
