Director, Office of Cyber Assessment Operations
Tim Schwab is the Director of the Office of Cyber Assessment Operations within the Office of Enterprise Assessments (EA) at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). In this role, Mr. Schwab provides oversight and management for independent cybersecurity assessments performed by the Office wherein teams of subject matter experts evaluate and report on the overall performance of DOE’s classified and unclassified cybersecurity programs at individual DOE locations.
Before joining EA's Office of Cyber Assessments, Mr. Schwab served as an Assessment Team Lead for the Defense Information Systems Agency and Joint Force Headquarters Department of Defense Information Network. In this role, he led assessment teams conducting Command Cyber Operational Readiness Inspections and Public Key Infrastructure Audits across the Department of Defense. Prior to entering federal civilian service, Mr. Schwab served as an Information Technology Specialist in the United States Army, leading teams of Soldiers in the development and maintenance of information systems and networks.
Mr. Schwab maintains numerous cybersecurity certifications including Certified Information System Security Professional, Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC) Exploit Researcher and Advanced Penetration Tester, and GIAC Web Application Penetration Tester. Additionally, Mr. Schwab holds a Master of Science degree in Cybersecurity Management.
