National Cybersecurity Strategy, (September 2018), This strategy enables the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to secure Federal department and agency networks. To accomplish its key priorities, the National Cyber Strategy both outlines actionable priority tasks and acknowledges the need for further comprehensive policy development. As the Energy Sector-Specific Agency, U.S. DOE is responsible for securing the Nation’s energy infrastructure. CESER plays an essential role in preparing for cyber incidents, as well as responding to incidents when they occur. The role of CESER, as outlined in the National Cyber Strategy, is to work with U.S. DHS to coordinate and unify the national response effort in the event of a cyber incident.
