Join the U.S. Department of Energy’s Arctic Energy Office and Grid Deployment Office for a webinar on Wednesday, July 19, 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. AKDT (3:30 – 4:30 p.m. ET) for a conversation and Q&A for Alaskans about tribal consortiums for the Grid Resilience State and Tribal Formula Grants

Register Today!

Our webinar, “A Conversation with Alaskans on the Grid Resilience State and Tribal Formula Grants”, will bring you expert insight and time for Q&A about the amended grant application guidance, which now allows a group of Indian Tribes, including Alaska Native Corporations, to submit a single application as a tribal consortium. The recent amendment also extends the application deadline for tribes to August 31.

The Grid Resilience State and Tribal Formula Grants program is designed to distribute $2.3 billion over five years to states, territories, and federally recognized Indian tribes, including Alaska Native Regional Corporations and Alaska Native Village Corporations to strengthen and modernize America’s power grid against wildfires, extreme weather, and other natural disasters that are exacerbated by the climate crisis. Grant allocations are based on a formula that includes factors such as population size, land area, probability and severity of disruptive events, and a locality’s historical expenditures on mitigation efforts.
