The State, Local, Tribal, and Territorial (SLTT) Energy Assurance Program focuses on improving the security and resilience of the energy sector with state and local governments. The Office of Electricity Delivery and Energy Reliability’s (OE) Infrastructure Security and Energy Restoration (ISER) Division works with state and local partners through national associations for energy offices, emergency managers, utility commissioners, and state government officials to develop communications procedures, tools, and training to improve their capacity to prepare for and respond to energy sector emergencies.

Examples of those activities include the signing of the Energy Emergency Assurance Coordinators (EEAC) Agreement in February 2016 to improve coordination and cooperation among energy assurance practitioners, and the coordination and response to Hurricane Matthew

The SLTT Energy Assurance Year-in-Review, available for downloading HERE, provides a summary of activities the SLTT energy assurance community participated in over calendar year 2016. These accomplishments will be built upon as the program progresses and will improve SLTT capabilities to prepare for and respond to energy disruptions.
