Join us for a special update on industrial and manufacturing programs in the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE), based in the Advanced Manufacturing Office (AMO).
Hosted in partnership with the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE), this meeting will provide an overview of EERE’s current industrial and manufacturing portfolio and the reorganization of AMO into two new offices: the Industrial Efficiency and Decarbonization Office (IEDO) and the Advanced Materials and Manufacturing Technology Office (AMMTO).
Advanced Materials and Manufacturing Technology Office (AMMTO) will focus on the technological and economic competitiveness in manufacturing for a clean and decarbonized economy. This work will be done in three pillars: RD&D to ensure secure and sustainable supply chains; next-generation materials and processes; and clean-energy products and workforce. These programs are designed to maximize economic competitiveness while ensuring opportunity for meaningful employment across the nation.
Industrial Efficiency and Decarbonization Office (IEDO) will focus on cost-effective technologies to reduce emissions in industrial sectors. This will be done in three pillars: RD&D targeting energy-and-emissions-intensive industrial sub-sectors; cross-cutting technologies across industrial sub-sectors; as well as technical assistance and workforce development programs that empower the decarbonization of the industrial sector. Activities will be informed with stakeholder input and a prioritization roadmap to ensure decarbonization of the energy- and emissions -intensive industrial sector.
