FY17 DOE Funding: $943,000
Project Term: October 1, 2016 – September 30, 2017
Funding Type: Lab Award
Project Objective
The Standard Energy Efficiency Data (SEED) Platform™ is an open source software application that helps organizations easily manage data on the energy performance of large groups of buildings, including state and local governments implementing building efficiency programs, building managers, energy efficiency program managers, and more.
During FY2017, the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) will provide ongoing programming and technical support for the SEED Platform, including core development and maintenance (e.g. quality management, debugging, and performance and usability improvements), feature development (e.g. improved integration with other BTO software tools like the Commercial Building Asset Score), and user support and outreach.
Project Impact
This project will increase SEED’s reliability and value to users (e.g. utilities, municipalities, portfolio owners, third-party software developers) and enable greater investment in energy efficiency, making buildings more competitive, secure, and resilient while supporting domestic jobs and trades.
