Summary

The Department of State is preparing a supplemental EIS (SEIS) to analyze the potential environmental impacts of the Mainline Alternative Route (MAR) of the Keystone XL Pipeline in Nebraska. This SEIS supplements the 2014 Keystone XL Final SEIS (DOE/EIS-0433-S1), considers the direct, indirect and cumulative impacts related to the MAR and identifies any potential mitigation measures to minimize adverse effects. This SEIS also considers new information related to the Keystone XL Project, including studies conducted of the proposed Keystone XL pipeline’s crossing of the Missouri River. DOE's Western Area Power Administration (WAPA) is participating as a cooperating agency.

For more information, see Keystone XL Pipeline.

Project cancelled by project proponent in 2021.
