Summary

Western Area Power Administration (WAPA) prepared an EA (DOE/EA-2061) for the Prevailing Wind Farm Project. The EA assesses the potential environmental impacts of a proposal to construct and operate up to 100 wind turbines on privately-owned land in North Dakota. The project would include associated access roads, a new collector substation, an operations and maintenance facility, and associated transmission interconnection facilities.  The project would interconnect to WAPA's transmission system at the existing Utica Junction Substation. The EA tiered from the analysis conducted in the Upper Great Plains Wind Energy Programmatic EIS (DOE/EIS-0408)
