The Energy Department is committed to growing America’s manufacturing industry by helping companies become leaders in the production of energy technologies like electric vehicles, LED bulbs and solar panels. The Department is also working with manufacturers to increase their energy productivity by implementing energy efficiency measures.
The Advanced Materials and Manufacturing Technologies Office supports a globally competitive U.S. manufacturing sector that accelerates the adoption of innovative materials and manufacturing technologies in support of a clean, decarbonized economy through programs in next-generation materials and processes, energy technology manufacturing and workforce, and secure and sustainable materials.
The Industrial Efficiency and Decarbonization Office invests in research, development, pilot-scale demonstrations, and technical assistance and workforce development to decarbonize America’s industrial sector through energy efficiency, industrial electrification, low-carbon fuels and feedstocks, and carbon capture.
