SUBJECT:      Establishing Paid Sick Leave for Federal Contractors

SUMMARY:    On September 4, 2015, the President signed Executive Order 13706: Establishing Paid Sick Leave for Federal Contractors which requires parties that contract with the Federal Government to provide their employees with up to 7 days (56 hours) of paid sick leave annually, including paid leave allowing for family care. On September 30, 2016, the Department of Labor published a final rule (81 FR 67598) implementing the Executive Order. The final rule takes effect on November 29, 2016.
