An LM article was published in the June edition of Health Physics, a monthly, peer-reviewed medical journal focused on radiation safety and healthcare applications. The article, titled “Establishing Radiological Screening Levels for Defense-Related Uranium Mine (DRUM) Sites on BLM Land Using a Recreational Future-Use Scenario,” describes the results of analysis to develop risk screening criterion appropriate to recreational user exposure scenarios on public lands. LM’s Five-Year Program of verification and validation of DRUM sites is focused on mines that are located on federal public land in the United States, such as those managed by the U.S. Bureau of Land Management.
