
Christine Mercier has 21 years of federal service. Prior to joining the Office of Indian Energy, she worked for the Bureau of Indian Affairs as a Self-Determination Specialist, where she provided technical support and training to 12 Bureau of Indian Affairs regions, managed and reviewed single audit reports, helped develop self-determination policies and procedures, and coordinated reconciliation of Office of the Inspector General audit findings. She also previously worked for the U.S. Department of Energy–Bonneville Power Administration as a Program Analyst in the Office of General Council.
Christine has a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science from Portland State University and a Master of Studies degree in Environmental, Natural Resources, and Energy Law from Lewis & Clark Law School. Christine is a member of the Navajo Nation, and her clans are Tl’ízí Laní born for Ta'neeszahnii. She lives in Portland, Oregon, with her husband Bryan and her children Keekoa and Kaalogi.
