The U.S. Department of the Interior is launching the Renewable Energy Accelerated Deployment Initiative (READI), seeking input on how to streamline and advance tribal renewable energy development. The initiative is sponsored by the Bureau of Indian Affairs’ Office of Trust Services.
A tribal engagement series is being held to hear directly from tribes about renewable energy resource needs and priorities. In-person hybrid meetings and virtual-only meetings begin Aug. 21. Travel funding will be made available for one representative from each tribal nation to attend one of the in-person engagement sessions. Tribes may also submit written feedback online.
