On May 2, 2019, DOE issued Order No. 4372 to Port Arthur LNG, LLC (Port Arthur LNG) under section 3(a) of the Natural Gas Act.  This Order authorizes Port Arthur LNG to export U.S.-sourced liquefied natural gas (LNG) to any country with which the United States has not entered into a free trade agreement (FTA) requiring national treatment for trade in natural gas, and with which trade is not prohibited by U.S. law or policy (non-FTA countries); a Record of Decision (ROD), was also issued in this Order.

Port Arthur LNG is authorized to export the LNG in a volume equivalent to 698 billion cubic feet (Bcf) per year of natural gas (1.91 Bcf/day) from the proposed Port Arthur LNG Project, to be located in Port Arthur, TX.
