On May 19, 2023, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) announced $86.7 million in funding for 45 projects across 18 states and Washington D.C. to advance research, development, demonstration, and deployment (RDD&D) in several areas critical to reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in the transportation sector. Projects selected in the fiscal year (FY) 2022 funding opportunity will support the government wide approach to the climate crisis by driving innovation in the transportation sector that can lead to the deployment of clean energy technologies. On February 15, 2023, DOE announced VTO’s Fiscal Year 2022 Program Wide Funding Opportunity Selections for Area of Interest 10 – Innovative Medium- and Heavy-Duty EV Charging and Hydrogen Regional Fueling Corridor Infrastructure Plans. DOE announced $7.4 million to seven projects to develop medium- and heavy-duty EV charging and hydrogen corridor infrastructure plans that will benefit millions of drivers across 23 states The PDF below details the projects selected.
