This project is creating the solar industry’s first proprietary technology platform for monitoring and remotely diagnosing residential and commercial solar systems, which will protect and accelerate capital investments into the solar industry. The predictive performance platform is being designed to quickly and accurately detect all types of system performance issues and to guarantee the lifetime performance of the system.

Approach

The project team is developing tools for a software application that uses major solar monitoring platforms and integrates weather data to model expected solar performance. By analyzing the patterns of real-time production and performance data, this proprietary software will generate highly accurate predictive analytics previously unavailable to the industry. The team is also introducing machine learning to further enhance automated performance alerts for system owners.

This project enables the rapid assessment and repair of large-scale residential and commercial portfolios relative to guaranteed production and actual performance. This software platform enables operations and maintenance vendors to drive down the operational cost structure of the industry and deliver an improved experience to the owners of solar energy systems.
