Liz Penniman is the Director of Communications for EERE and has 15 years of communications, marketing, and stakeholder engagement experience. In her role, she supports the Assistant Secretary in leading EERE’s communications team to help deliver clear, audience-focused messaging across platforms to highlight EERE’s work to advance clean energy technologies and combat climate change.

Penniman spent the last decade supporting DOE communications offices, primarily the EERE communications office, through strategic communications, writing and editing, and project management. ​With an educational background in communications and journalism, and a professional background in energy communications and team management, she is passionate about communicating highly technical information to a variety of audiences and is always looking for new ways to deliver messaging. In her free time, you can find her chasing her two toddlers and three senior dogs around the house.
