Kara Peralta serves as the Director of the Workforce Management Office (WMO) within the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE). Kara leads the EERE coordination with the Office of Human Capital, in addition to diversity, workforce strategy, talent management, facilities, and administrative support. All of these functions provide essential support to EERE's corporate business processes and mission. 

Prior to this role, Kara served as Acting Director Office of Business Operations and Acting Chief of Staff and Senior Advisor to the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Operations (DAS-O). As a member of the Operations leadership team, Kara worked closely with all facets of the Operations offices and provided critical support during the administration transition, ensuring continuity of operations through rapidly changing requirements. She chaired the Information Management Review Board and served as Executive Secretary of the Change Control Board.

Prior to joining the DAS-O team, Kara excelled in leading programmatic and EERE-wide process changes as a member of the Project Management Coordination Office. She has nearly 20 years of project management experience in both the Federal government and the private sector. 

She received her B.A. in Economics from the University of Maryland and her M.S. in Government Information Leadership from National Defense University.
