The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Geothermal Technologies Office (GTO) will host its 2022 Peer Review in May 2022. During the peer review, 62 GTO-funded projects will be presented and systematically reviewed by external subject matter experts from industry, academia, and federal agencies. The peer review is an opportunity to learn more about GTO research, development, demonstration, and deployment projects. To find information on past peer reviews, visit the GTO Peer Review webpage.

Research Areas and Presentations
GTO’s Multi-Year Program Plan (MYPP) outlines a 5-year plan of activities GTO will pursue to support the growth and long-term contribution of geothermal energy to the U.S. electricity grid and American homes and buildings. The MYPP lays out six research areas that provide the foundation for GTO’s research activities. The 2022 Peer Review presentations are organized by these research areas:
- Exploration and Characterization
- Subsurface Accessibility
- Resource Maximization
- Subsurface Enhancement and Sustainability
- Data, Modeling, and Analysis
After the event, the presentations will be posted on this page for the public to watch.
Agenda
The 2022 Peer Review will take place on May 10, 12, 16, 18, 24, and 26. The agenda, found below, is subject to change. Start times are shown in both Pacific Daylight Time (PDT) and Eastern Daylight Time (EDT).
