The Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technologies Office (HFTO) leads federal efforts to promote the commercial viability of hydrogen and fuel cell technologies through a broad portfolio of research, development, and demonstration activities. HFTO also conducts enabling activities—in areas such as manufacturing; safety, codes and standards, and workforce development—to further support deployment and market adoption. HFTO's efforts aim to help realize a clean, equitable energy future while spurring innovation and building a strong domestic economy.

See our Progress in Hydrogen and Fuel Cells fact sheet, which describes how HFTO's funding has spurred significant progress in several areas. Learn more about these accomplishments through links provided in the accompanying reference document.
