The Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technologies Office (HFTO) leads federal efforts to promote the commercial viability of hydrogen and fuel cell technologies through a broad portfolio of research, development, and demonstration activities. HFTO also conducts enabling activities—in areas such as manufacturing; safety, codes and standards, and workforce development—to further support deployment and market adoption. HFTO's efforts aim to help realize a clean, equitable energy future while spurring innovation and building a strong domestic economy.
See our Progress in Hydrogen and Fuel Cells fact sheet, which describes how HFTO's funding has spurred significant progress in several areas.
