OTT Launches Concierge Service to Streamline R&D Partnership Process

Last week, OTT launched its newest tool to help streamline the process of connecting and partnering with the Department of Energy’s National Laboratories and facilities: Solutions Exchange. Hosted on OTT’s landmark Lab Partnering Service, Solutions Exchange is our first service to provide a tailored experience to America’s innovators looking to overcome difficult scientific or technical challenges with the help of our world-class researchers and facilities.

Regional Innovation Ecosystems: Spotlight on Michigan

After two successful roundtables this summer with Michigan stakeholders, OTT and the Michigan Economic Development Corporation collaborated on a report to gain a clearer understanding of the current and future challenges facing Michigan’s innovation ecosystem, and highlight opportunities to inspire clean energy technology innovation and advance regional markets.

R&D World Magazine Announces 2020 R&D 100 Winners

U.S. Department of Energy researchers have won 38 of the 100 awards given out this year by R&D World. The annual R&D 100 Awards are given in recognition of exceptional technologies developed during the previous year.

“Through our Office of Technology Transitions, we’re working hard to help make the difficult process of commercialization more efficient and effective, so that our researchers can continue to make incredible advances like those in this year’s R&D 100 awards," said DOE Chief Commercialization Officer Conner Prochaska.

The DOE's National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL) is pleased to host the virtual DOE InnovationXLab CarbonX Summit on Wednesday and Thursday, October 21-22, 2020. This event will showcase DOE technologies and National Laboratory capabilities that are transforming the domestic energy economy by enabling value-added products, environmentally conscious storage, and economical CO2 capture.

The Summit will feature informative exhibits, prominent keynote speakers, and networking opportunities with researchers, industry players, and stakeholders working to tackle the energy sector’s most pressing challenges. Attendees will also have the opportunity to hear from DOE Deputy Secretary Mark W. Menezes!

CSIS Energy Innovation Series

Over the past several months, OTT has had the pleasure to support the Energy Innovation Series hosted by the CSIS Energy Security and Climate Change Program. The series has focused on specific categories of energy technology, and the innovation priorities within the DOE and the National Laboratory complex against the broader ecosystem, both domestic and international, for advancing a portfolio of solutions.

On Friday, October 23, 2020 at 1PM ET, CSIS will host the final wrap-up event, which will tie together all five previous events to discuss the state of the energy innovation ecosystem. Secretary of Energy Dan Brouillette will deliver the keynote, and OTT Director Conner Prochaska will discuss his work as the Department of Energy’s Chief Commercialization Officer.
