The U.S. Department of Energy Bioenergy Technologies Office (BETO) Bioenergy Research and Education Bridge Program (BRIDGES) creates partnerships with high schools, community/technical colleges, and universities to utilize and develop educational case studies aligned to the needs of the bioenergy industry workforce. This is a case study for the program.

Students will be introduced to the challenges and benefits of bioenergy technologies, as well as to exciting careers within the bioenergy field. Students will assume the role of a sustainability specialist in the cutting-edge biofuel industry to compare the use of sustainable and petroleum-based jet fuels, including their greenhouse gas emissions.
