The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is hosting a virtual workshop on December 15th, from 2:00 – 5:00 PM, with the following goals:
- For DOE and other government agencies to listen to community priorities, concerns, and ideas related to carbon management projects, and learn how community members would like to be involved in projects moving forward.
- For community members to learn about the kinds of carbon projects that might be proposed, how federal agencies regulate projects to mitigate impacts, and opportunities for public participation.
This virtual workshop follows a series of four in-person workshops held in November and December 2022—in Tulsa, Oklahoma; Corpus Christi, Texas; the Tri-cities region of Washington State; and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
This virtual workshop will include regional breakout groups and discussions. A draft, high-level outline of the agenda is below; presenting agencies are noted in bold: Welcome (2 PM EST)
