Jacob Long, Alternate NNSA Headquarters Security Officer

How long have you been with NNSA and what are your job responsibilities?  I have been with NNSA since 2020.  I serve as Alternate Headquarters Security Officer, which covers Incidents of Security Concern, Security Areas, Information and Operational Security, and Foreign National Access. I also serve as Alternate Continuity of Operations (COOP) Coordinator for the Office of Defense Nuclear Security.

What do you consider to be your greatest professional achievement?

Having the opportunity to serve on a team that received recognition from the Deputy Secretary. 

Do you belong to any organizations/clubs outside of work? If so, what do those organizations do, and what is your role?

I am a member of and serve in various capacities at Waterfront Church in Washington, D.C. 

What are your top three goals for your NNSA career?

  • Working on impactful projects that improve NNSA and the Department
  • Advance and grow in new security disciplines
  • Support and mentor those who are new to security
