The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is proposing to provide federal funding to Redox Power Systems, LLC (Redox) for the design, development, laboratory testing, and demonstration of the technical and economic feasibility of a thin-film multilayer-electrolyte solid oxide electrolyte cell that utilizes proton-conducting electrolyte materials (P-SOEC). Project work would occur at Redox’s laboratory and office incubator space leased from the University of Maryland in College Park, MD over a three-year period. Additionally, collaboration is expected to occur with the HydroGEN Energy Materials Network Consortium.
