Western Area Power Administration (WAPA), Rocky Mountain Region (RMR), proposes to replace two 34.5 kV oil circuit breakers (OCB) and associated equipment at WAPA’s Lingle Substation (L), located in Goshen County, Wyoming. The existing 342 and 442 OCB’s would be replaced with more dependable Sulfur Hexaflouride (SF6) gas breakers. In addition to the replacement of the OCB breakers, seven switches, voltage transformers, arresters, associated conductor, associated electrical equipment, control cable and cable trench, and site development and foundation removal would occur. All proposed activities will occur within the existing L fenced perimeter. To access the work area, maintenance crews would use existing access roads. No road maintenance activities are authorized as part of this Categorical Exclusion (CX).
