Multimedia filter and ion-exchange treatment skids at the Fernald Preserve CAWWT facility.

On January 5, 2018, multimedia filter and ion-exchange treatment skids were delivered to the Converted Advanced Waste Water Treatment (CAWWT) facility at the Fernald Preserve, Ohio, Site.  The skids are part of the equipment that will go into optimizing and replacing the old and failing treatment system. As two of the main components for treating Fernald waste water and groundwater, their timely delivery minimizes potential schedule delays. CAWWT facility construction will continue with assembly of piping, electrical, fiber optic communication, and process control systems. Work completed to date includes radiological piping and equipment demolition, electrical sub systems demolition, concrete refurbishment, and building modifications.
