Maintaining an open dialog with the public is central to the mission of the Environmental Management Los Alamos Field Office (EM-LA). With clear, timely and consistent engagement, EM-LA strives to keep the public informed about the legacy cleanup work at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) and learn what matters most to local community members.

Public events, including those held by community and regional stakeholders such as the Northern New Mexico Citizens’ Advisory Board and the Regional Coalition of LANL Communities, provide a valuable forum for the public and EM-LA to discuss key issues and upcoming plans. The advice and recommendations received from the public help shape current and futures policies at EM-LA. As a result, this feedback has a direct impact on the progress of the legacy cleanup work at LANL.
